My Story
This is Goose. Goose is a redbone coonhound-yellow lab mix. We met Goose and his eight siblings when he was two weeks old. Goose’s mom was a yellow lab. His dad apparently was a redbone coonhound.
Unfortunately, his mom died when he was two weeks old. What a way to start his life without a mom. Goose and his brothers and sisters were bottlefed until they could eat canned food and drink from a bowl. With love and care, they all survived a rocky start.
Goose, his brothers and sisters, were adopted to wonderful families. They were all told the story of how we got Goose and his siblings. .
When Goose was a little older, his family decided their dog and Goose were not a good match, so they gave Goose away to some friends. They had their friends promise to keep Goose forever.
Well shortly after Goose moved in with them, they gave Goose to another family.
On May 1, 2008, Goose turned a year old. What a life he has had:
His mom died when he was 14 days old.
His adopted family gave him away.
His new family gave him away.
On June 2, 2008, Goose found himself dumped off of Highway 369 and Poole’s Mill Road in North Forsyth County, all alone. A mere year old, has had three homes and now discarded like trash. No one cared about Goose. .
Goose wandered around until he found another dog in a yard. He decided to take up residence with his friend George. George didn’t seem to mind much so he let him stay and rest a while. George’s guardians met Goose in the morning and took him to the Humane Society to see if he had a microchip. Luckily for Goose, he did. It was registered to K9 Rescue League. They called us and we were able to get Goose back into a safe environment.
Goose is a fabulous boy, well mannered, even tempered, laid back, but playful, very sweet and loving, quiet, excellent in the house and with other dogs. How could Goose have been bounced around from home to home. Doesn’t anyone care anymore? .
We do and we will adopt Goose only to his forever home.
