Adopted 2-29-08, thank you Julie, of Spokane Valley, WA! ~~~~ ~ IN 11-13-07. Rescued in her final hour from a high kill local shelter. She'd been there 5 days with no one looking for her. She had no collar or ID and was picked up running as a stray. Her heritage is open for discussion, this is my best guess. She is my FAVORITE kind of dog to rescue. She is a good ole' all American mixed breed. She has a moderate/calm personality, non aggressive to people of all sizes and gender, but I have no doubt she would stop an intruder in the middle of the night. She's good with other dogs that are submissive and playful, the younger the better.(UNLESS there is food or toys involved, we have discovered, she is protective of her food bowl and will try to take the food bowl of another dog). She is a nice dog, that took fresh turkey treats out of my 3 yr old daughters hand as gently as a lamb, however, without supervision, she quickly takes over with small children and plays too rough and inappropriately (knocks them down, mouths and mounts them). A home with older children, say 10yr and up would be just fine. She is housebroke, knows "sit" and walks on a leash, although she does pull a bit. She is crate trained, and LOVES to be in her crate when nothing is going on. She sleeps there all night without a peep. We are strongly reccomending a professional obedience class be attended with her to help with establishing ground rules and who's the boss. She is a young dog, probably 1-2 yrs old. She has a really nice, low shedding, short coat. She is curious about cats, but one swat to the nose and she's headed in the other direction when on leash, but off leash, she's a terror to cats and we haven't been able to figure that one out yet.. She LOVES to play (rough and tumble) with other dogs her age and energy level. She has a medium energy level and LOVES to play fetch with rope toys or balls. This is a once in a lifetime type mix, a dog you'll cherish and remember forever.
