Gumbo

Sweet, sweet Gumbo is a 12 year old, female Catahoula Cur mix. She truly is a Louisiana dog being misplaced by a hurricane and transported to an animal shelter. Such a sad time for this girl because after so many animals had been transported out of harms way of a Hurricane, she was scheduled to be euthanized due to no room at the shelter she had been transported to. As luck would have it, BARK stepped in just in the nick of time and pulled her to safety. Once she arrived at our rescue we read her bio only to find out that she not only dodged a hurricane, then almost got euthanized but she was owner surrendered! Gumbo started her life in a shelter where she was adopted out to a "loving family" who loved her until they decided they wanted a puppy! Gumbo had no interested in being around a puppy so her family took her to a shelter and kept the puppy! This girl has had an almost unimaginable life. Every time I love at Gumbo at BARK, I tell her how special she is and how much we all love her. I think she truly knows this in her heart. Gumbo had been dealt bad hand after bad hand after bad hand and now more than anything we want Gumbo to find a home where she can live out her senior days. She is a senior now and she does have arthritis however it is easily managed with joint supplement and anti inflammatory meds as needed. She is a calm, senior girl who will "Love You Like Biscuits & Gravy!" She needs a calm home with no other animals. She just wants to sleep at your feet and be petted! Being in a shelter setting for an old gal, is definitely not ideal.
