Sweet Ol' Gus is an adorable, quirky 11-year-old Border Collie/Terrier mix who loves his people. He'll snuggle up with you for belly and chin rubs and does the doggy lean where he presses himself right up against you. He's pretty active (in a good way) for an older guy who loves walks, playing and is quite curious. He does well with most dogs but might do best a solo pup so he has all the attention.
Gus was initially rescued from Kentucky but then surrendered to a shelter on Long Island where he was so stressed out, they were going to euthanize him. So Ready for Rescue and Paws and Hooves Animal Rescue stepped in and saved him. He is sooo sweet but he does need an experienced handler as he can be a little wary of strangers. But it doesn't take him long to warm up (we had met him and in 5 minutes he was crawling into our lap). We think Gus would do best in a quiet house outside of the city. if you have a yard even better! How about giving this deserving senior a loving home for his golden years?
