This handsome guy is the whole package. Though 7 years old, he still has the energy of a much younger dog. Gustav is always ready for an adventure! He loves romping in the woods, and can be trusted off leash in safe areas. He will check in and not go out of sight. He is car friendly. Water? Show him a paddleboard! Jogging? Always ready! Gustav meets humans and dogs easily. Probably too friendly as a watch dog, but he does have an impressive loud bark, which he uses selectively. He is currently living with a female dog bigger than him, a male smaller, and had a short adjustment period. He is ok with the female being the boss. He has lived with kitties, and seems to enjoy kids. Gustav is happy to go to his crate if needed, and enjoys his meals and naps there. He is non destructive when loose in the house, and not a fence jumper. History: Gustav was adopted as a puppy in Texas. His female owner loved and trained him well. Eventually they landed in California. Sadly, she unexpectedly passed away. Gustav was so upset he ran away and had a harrowing 2 week adventure loose and in a shelter. Finally his extended family located him and brought him to their home. They are fostering him until the PERFECT family is found.
