From his wonderful foster mom: - his body may have wasted, but not his spirit; very sweet guy -reliably housebroken and does not mark (asks to go out) - nice house manners - crate trained, but does not need to be - walks nicely on leash - loves to ride in the car - easy to handle and has no "touch" issues - sleeps through the night - likes other dogs - loves all dog beds, even those that are too small for him! - LOVES people - LOVES to be touched, held and pet - Corrects easily ("no" or "ah-ah" is enough) Hamlet is one of those stories that hits you in the gut … as if getting old wasn’t bad enough, Hammy was chained in a back yard to starve to death when his owners moved away. Hammy has wasted away to nothing when he was found and although very weak and struggling with the discomfort of his arthritic joints, this boy has a soul to survive and we are hoping to find him a home to grow old in instead of being left for dead. All animals are current at time of adoption but in some cases a booster series is required or a vaccine cannot be given due to age and cannot be completed prior to adoption Our adoptable animals come to us from various sources, the most common being from an animal shelter who is unable to handle their physical or mental needs in the shelter setting but believe with the appropriate care, they can become adoptable.
