My Story

Henry was just rescued from the shelter and we can't wait to find him a great home! He is about 2 yrs old and around 70lbs..........we will be updating the website as we learn more about this beautiful dog!

Here is an update from Henry's fosterhome:
The pics of Henry on PetFinders absolutely do not do him justice! He is much cuter. Really! The hair on his back is so soft, long, and curly....and, it's red!
He is proving to be an extremely docile dog. He avoids conflicts of any kind. He is not afraid of our shepherds (they treat him with kid gloves,) yet he does quietly turn around and walk away when they "play loudly" or bark at each other. Quiet is also an excellent word for him. As far as we know, he has only barked one time (one bark, too!) That was to quiet our loudest poochie who wanted someone to play with him. Henry tolerates people noises well. Although he was a little jumpy in the car ride home from the vet on Sunday, he has adjusted to all of our family and neighborhood noise thus far......and our noise here can be substantial! All four of my children are musicians. This includes two adult members (my twenty-one year old twins) who have their own band, and jam here with their friends pretty routinely.
Henry reminds me of a lounge-about Persian cat we had a long time ago. He is such a relaxed guy!! He figured out within the first 24 hours here that he had several places he could lie, in comfort, including on both dog and people beds. My entire family gives him tons of love, pets, scratches, and sweet talk. He is soaking it all in and seems entirely in his comfort zone.
What Henry does not seem to be is energetic, jumpy, aggressive, excitable, stingy, possessive, jealous, a chewer, a barker, a biter, or a protector. He has gone outside with the other dogs on his own a few times. However, we've established a routine of taking him outside four times per day to exercise and potty (he seems house-broken.) For these times we attach a leash to his collar and he agreeably gets up and will walk nicely on the leash to the front door and outside.
Summing up here, Henry is the most mild-mannered love and cuddle bug we have all ever experienced!

Please let us know right away if you want to meet this great boy!
