My Story

Honeysuckle is a delightful and affectionate dog with a gentle disposition. Here are some insights from her foster family: Personality and Behavior: Sweet and Loving: Honeysuckle is incredibly sweet and loves affection. Food Motivated: She has a big appetite and loves to beg for food whenever possible. Calm Preferences: She feels most comfortable in calm environments and can be a bit anxious in new or busy situations. Interactions with Other Pets: Playful Lab: Honeysuckle enjoyed playing with a lively Labrador but preferred to find a quiet spot when playtime got too energetic. Peaceful Co-existence with Cats: Initially, the resident cat was not thrilled about Honeysuckle, but over time, they learned to live peacefully together. Behavior with Humans: Hesitant with Male Foster Parent: Honeysuckle showed nervous and submissive behavior around the male foster parent, except during mealtimes when she would beg for food from a distance. Interaction Approach: The foster family minimized forced interactions to avoid increasing her anxiety, a note to consider for potential adopters. Great with Calm Children: Honeysuckle was excellent around well-behaved children, but preferred to retreat to a quiet place when kids got too loud or boisterous. Daily Routine and Training: Outdoor Lover: Honeysuckle loves basking in the sun and would happily spend all day outdoors. Leash Walking: She can walk on a leash. Potty-Training Needs: Honeysuckle needs some retraining with potty-training. She doesn't alert when she needs to go outside, so close attention to her schedule and behavior is essential. Other Behaviors: Quiet but Vocal in Crate: Generally quiet, Honeysuckle may howl for a few minutes when first left alone in her crate. She sleeps well through the night as long as she knows her humans are nearby. Curious and Mischievous: As she becomes more comfortable in her surroundings, her curious and playful nature starts to shine. Honeysuckle is a gentle soul who thrives in a calm and loving environment. With patience and understanding, she will make a wonderful addition to a caring home.
