HI, my name is Howlie – my original owner is in the Air Force and is being deployed. She hates to give me up, but she knows I need a home were I can get some training on my manners, people who are responsive and like regular interaction and activity in their lives. There was supposed to be someone taking care of me, but they weren’t home much and kept me in a cage in the basement where it was dark and I was lonely. The two cats that lived with me were in another part of the house, but I liked playing with them when I could. I'm a naturally playful, curious, and trusting girl, just a couple of months shy of celebrating my first birthday. I love to run really fast and enjoy chasing toys you throw for me. Please take me for a big walk every day and give me something to do. After my job's done, I'll curl up in front of the couch with you in the evenings. I'm a dog on a mission to please you and myself. I can be timid at times due to my lack of social interaction, yet I can be charming too. I am searching for a patient owner with a relaxed lifestyle. I need some gentle guidance to help me be the best dog I can be! If you treat me sweet and kind, I will blossom. I know how to sit and lay down, but I still have lots of my puppy manners and like to chew on your hands and jump on you. Although, I love little kids, they tend to be scared when I’m around because of my high energy. I really want to learn better manners, so please have the time to teach me. I am pretty clever though and can open fences and gates with my paws and my nose – you will think my name is Houdini!! Overall, I’m a fun-loving, happy-all-the-time, glass-is-half-full kind of dog looking for someone who loves to laugh and play around.
