Jack

Hi! My name is Jack and I’m an energetic Golden Retriever mix who refuses to act my age. One of the ladies here at the Sanctuary has even pegged me as a party animal! I don’t know why I failed puppy obedience class so many years ago, because I know more stuff than almost any other dog I’ve met. I sit, lie down, shake hands, speak and fetch, just to name a few of my tricks. A lot of people don't want to adopt a 12 year old dog, and I was here for months and months before anyone even wanted to meet me. I was beginning to think no one would ever adopt me, but then a lady called and made an appointment to meet me. She and her husband were the most amazing people I've ever met. They wanted to take me home with them that very day!!!! I would have gone, but here at the sanctuary, things don't work that way. I had to go on a "home visit" first, to make sure everything was up to snuff. It was... so I got to stay with my new family that very day! What a lucky old dog I am. I just wish there were more families out there who were willing to open their hearts to us "seniors". Mackenzie's still has some older dogs who simply want a comfy home for a few years.
