Jack will be available for adoption soon. He is a three-year-old dachshund mix that weighs a good 20lbs. and has an extremely high prey drive. This means you cannot have any rodents like hamsters, guinea pigs, ferrets, small dogs, such as poodles, Maltese puppies or kittens, he will harm/kill them.
This dog was in a housefire. He lives in our overflow building because he’s scared to come in our house.
I can pet him, he does love attention.
I don’t have time to take him for a walks, his previous owner apparently didn’t take him for a walk because she had another dog with him and a small child.
This is a damaged dog, its going to take work on your part for house training, socialization and he is extremely crate aggressive if you put him in a crate and put your hands by it, he will bite you.
I don’t know the details of the house fire, but apparently it traumatized this dog.
Please make sure you are willing to put the work in to love this dog before you apply.
