My Story

Meet Jack now in New England ! This little man is about 12 weeks old and weighs in at 20 lbs. He is a sweet snuggly guy who loves to rough-and-tumble with the big dogs! Literally, he gets a little too boisterous for the wee ones so we believe another dog in the home should be on the larger side. He also would love to mix it up with the cats in his foster home but they are pretty dog savvy and know how to avoid his antics. Jack has much to learn as a young dog who hasn't had a lot of training. He is definitely mastering the crate and doing well with his potty training. He loves to chew so he will need a lot of good chew type toys in his new home. He is very food motivated and when he decides he's had enough walking when out on his walks he can certainly be enticed to continue on with a yummy treat or two. We have no doubt that Jack will be an amazing Family member once he has had the training and consistency and routine that all dogs require. We would love to see him go to a home where they understand the needs of a young pup who is new to Rescue, new to a home and family and new to having limitations put upon him. His Foster feels that he’s very smart and will learn new things very easily. A fence to keep him safe would be a plus, physical or invisible as again he is smart and will learn quickly. If you think you might be the right family for him, we are happy to have a conversation! Jack is looking for: • An active family with someone who is home more often than not • Someone who will continue training and socialization • A fenced yard to romp and play in and/or a way to stay safe • A young active dog in residence to provide socialization and companionship • Unconditional love, patience, and attention Rescue is more than a verb. It's a promise. Dogs come with a variety of needs - some behavioral, some emotional, some medical. When approved applicants rescue these dogs by adopting them, they take on whatever comes with the dog. This is what it means to rescue. GHR ONLY ADOPTS TO ADULTS OVER THE AGE OF 25 AND FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN OVER 6 AND PUPPIES TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE TIME FOR THEM. It doesn't matter where the pups are from; it only matters where they live the rest of their lives. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application at www.goldenhuggs.org, this is the first step in the process. The adoption fee $475 as well as a $175 deposit against a her spay which will be returned once he is altered. For more information, please contact [email protected].
