We took Jack in as an owner surrender about 4 years ago. His birthday is 3/30/2018, making him 6 years old. He is a long-haired Chihuahua, and he weighs about 22 pounds. He is a little overweight, but he is also larger normally then the average Chihuahua. He is completely vetted.
He was surrendered to us because he is a bitter and two other rescues told the previous owner to put him to sleep. We took him in, assessed him and worked with him. We are a husband-and-wife couple who run our rescue and it appears he does not like men, but me, the wife, managed to earn his trust in about two weeks when we first took him in. He now trusts me completely. I can brush and bathe him, cuts his nails, give him meds, pick him up, etc.
