Hello Everyone! My name is Jackson, but you can call me Jacks. I am looking for my furever home. Sure hope my furever family finds me soon!! I am a 16-18 lb. Chihuahua / Terrier mix and I’m maybe 8 years old. I walk well on a leash and I’m potty trained. My fur is very, very soft. I’m not big on being pet unless you’re sitting on the floor or in a chair with me. I do love to be close or touching my person. If you let me, I will snuggle up to you in bed all night! I have a cute underbite so I’m smiling all the time. I am in good health and up to date on shots and vaccinations. I am chipped and neutered. I am currently living with 3 other dogs. I do not resource guard, but I get upset with them if they come near the bed I’m sleeping in and will growl and bark to scare them off. I have been learning to play with my littlest foster brother and we have been having a lot of fun! I would probably do well in a home with another dog my size or smaller but I’m more than happy to be the center of attention! Oh and I love those Kong squeaky balls! I came from a horrible place Foster Mom says is a “Kill Shelter” and my time was up. I was very, very scared there. They called my owner, but no one ever came for me so that place put me on the short list to walk down that hall of no return. BONAFIED rescued me just in time all the way from Kansas! I’m a very, very lucky boy and so happy to be out of that place! FM’s house is nice but I dream of my own home with my own family every time I close my eyes. I would do best in a home without small children. When I’ve had enough of being pet, I pretend I’m going to nip the person petting me then I get up and move away. FM has been working with me and finds that I’m all show even when she makes me stay longer than I want to. I want to be loved and pet and cuddled but I’m still scared of being touched. Someone with patience and understanding could help me get past that, I’m sure. I am very interested in chasing small animals so its best I’m not in a home with those either. I love to try and chase rabbits when I’m outside and birds look yummy too. I am a bit of a drama dog. If something touches me and I don’t see it, I yelp like I’ve been hurt really bad. FM thinks I was probably abused in my former life. I just need to know I’m home forever, will be loved and that no one will hurt me or throw me away again.
