Meet Jacob... Another special shelter dog at the Tunica Humane Society. While trying to capture Maria in 2016, I found this sweet dog in my trap one morning. As I got out of my car and approached the trap, I heard a faint whimper. The other dog is not in the best of condition, but she looks nothing as tragic as this. I don't know where this poor dog came from here in our small town, but Lord knows, he needed to find his way to us. He desperately needed medical care. Jacob's eyes were badly infected when we captured him he could barely see. And he had a huge open wound on his side. He was covered in bites and starving to death. He had surgery on his eyelids that had been damaged by his severe mange and he is feeling so much better now. He was in the right place at the right time and now his life is forever changed. I named him Jacob. He is an extremely gentle dog. His suffering is over. He's very happy to be at our shelter. I don't think he ever had a home before coming to us. He's just so thankful to be here and loves all of our volunteers. Jacob is still shy with strangers. But he has huge potential if someone would give him a chance. Jacob is available at the Tunica Humane Society. Such a pretty boy!
