Jade is a beautiful girl who has been in shelter since 3/18/24. As hard as we try to make it comfortable for our pets the shelter is no substitution for a home, and its often pretty stressful here. Jade definitely feels that stress! Shes often tense, and shes still learning to trust people. She finds people walking up to her kennel to be very intimidating if she doesnt know them. This means that she doesnt put her best paw forward and she ends up making a bad first impression. Most people end up just continuing to walk by her. Shes much more confident and relaxed outside of her kennel. She definitely knows what a leash is. As soon as you show one to her shell calm down and wait for you to put it on her. Shes happy to amuse herself when loose in the yard by smelling everything around her. Shes too nervous to take treats from your hand, but she will let you pet her! When its time for Jade to return to her kennel, all that stress comes back to her. Were sure shed fare much better in a cozier environment.
