My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Jade-Bella is a 1-year-old 8.2-pound chihuahua rat terrier mix. She is a happy, sweet, and friendly dog. Words to describe her are cute, lovable, and affectionate. She follows her foster family members around the house - when they get up to go somewhere she gets up too, traveling alongside to be with them. She enjoys cuddling and when you least expect it, she will give you a kiss or roll over wanting a belly rub. Jade-Bella will wag her tail as soon as she sees a human giving a huge greeting that involves reaching up on her hind legs to get petted. If she sees a lap available, she will eagerly jump on it positioning herself thinking "I am here to stay so please do not get up!". And her goal for each evening is to sit in the recliner chair next to, or in the lap of, the foster dad and watch TV with him. Jade-Bella needs to live with one or two other dogs. She has separation anxiety, and 4 Lucky Dogs staff have discovered that another dog near her helps her remain calm when humans leave the house. Also, another dog in the house will make her very happy. She loves being everywhere the other dog is and doing everything together such as playing or eating or sleeping. Jade-Bella and her foster sister are constantly running around the foster home pawing at and tackling each other. They have a lot of fun and then they take naps because they are tired. An active family would be ideal for Jade-Bella since she has a lot of energy. She loves people so would be thrilled if someone is usually home to keep her and the other dog company. She prefers sleeping on human beds and couches but is happy with a dog bed as long as toys are around it. The foster family learned she loves being in the kitchen when she hears humans getting food out wanting to "help". She also gets very excited when the treat jar comes out willing to do anything to get one. 4LD has concluded that Jade-Bella will be much happier if her new home has a fenced-in yard to use for her bathroom needs rather than putting on a leash each time. She will gladly walk on a leash when the walk involves an adventure, but sometimes does not like having hands reach for her to hook up the leash so may yelp. Jade-Bella will occasionally bark/whine to alert her foster mother or to tell her she wants something. She will also bark if another dog is barking wanting to join in. We recommend a single-family home for this dog due to her unpredictable loudness (no adjoining walls). She is mostly potty trained but has had a few accidents in the foster house as she learns a new layout. Jade-Bella is extremely intelligent and wants to please, so with a regular routine and some patience from the adopter she should be able to become fully housebroken. She loves running in the backyard so will gladly go outside every time the door opens. Jade-Bella was recently surrendered by her owner due to a family situation change. She originally came into 4 Lucky Dogs in December of 2023 and 4LD will gladly take a dog back and get it rehomed if the need arises such as what happened this time. Summary of Requirements for this rescue dog Dog already living in the house that likes to play with other dogs Single-family house with fenced-in yard No young children because 4LD is unsure of what her past life was like when she was a stray The average lifespan for this breed is 15 years. Therefore, Jade-Bella's adopter will need to be prepared to care for her for around 14 more years so she will not have to move to a different home again. Jade-Bella's adoption fee is $600. This dog is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all necessary vaccines/rabies shots. She is currently being fostered in the Valrico/Plant City, FL area. ------------------ ***We are a foster-based rescue with no shelter or facility to view our dogs, and our address is a mailing address only. Please be patient as we are an all-volunteer rescue, and our rescue dogs are in various loving foster homes throughout West-Central Florida. As a general rule we try to limit our adoptions to within the state of FL. If interested in one of our dogs, please fill out a foster or adopt application at www.4luckydogs.org, and we will contact you by phone/text if we feel your application is the best fit out of the ones received.***
