Arrival story: Jake was left behind by his family when they moved out of state. We’re not sure how anyone could do that, especially to Jake. While he brings a smile to everyone he meets, his forever home has eluded him. We think that there is a home for every dog, so Jake is patiently waiting for that special someone.
Approximate age & weight: 3 years old and 77lbs. He’s all legs!
Personality: Personality? This guy has it and makes everyone laugh! He is intelligent and alert but also affectionate as he’s grown very fond of his foster family. We think he really wants a forever home who will make him feel like part of the pack. He likes to be where the action is! Jake is housetrained, knows basic commands and gets along with other dogs, and even cats! Jake is one of those dogs who is food motivated and eager to please, but he can be a bit strong-willed, so his new family will need to be confident leaders, making him follow the house rules.
Jake's forever home: We'd love to find an active family for Jake who has some experience and is knowledgeable about the Wirehaired Pointer breed. Jake would love to have another dog pal to play with. To be the best dog he can be, playtime, walks and mental stimulation are basic necessities because this smarty-pants get bored easily. Activities/toys like Kongs and Buster Cubes are great for dogs like Jake. He’d love to learn tricks and maybe even some backyard agility! This will keep him out of mischief and focused on his people. We’d like Jake to have a physical fence at his new home.
