My Story
Hello, it's Jake, Jake from State Farm. No, not really, and I don't wear khaki pants, but if you do, I would love to cuddle up on your lap. I'm a 6 year old long haired miniature (ok I'm not all that tiny, but I'm trying) Daschund. I came into rescue at about 25lbs and have been on a diet. From what I'm told, this should continue with my new home and may require prescription dog food until I get to my "ideal weight"
The things I want most in life- a lap to lay on, a car to take adventures in, and a path to take walks on. I'm my foster dad's shadow, he really loves me, but you see, the thing about fostering I hear is you gotta let them go to make room to save more. I'm not super happy about this, but my family promised to find me my final home with no more ups and downs. My first home was great, but unfortunately my parents couldn't take care of me anymore as they were getting older themselves. So before you apply- please make sure you can love me for the rest of my forever.
I'm pretty well potty trained, but regression is normal with change, and I'm still adjusting. I enjoy kids, as long as they are respectful. I have a few furry foster siblings. I co-exist with them...the big one still scares me a little and I'm not a huge fan of dogs way bigger then me, the female weenie makes my tail wag and we might play soon, the male weenie is my friend (but when he gets between me and dad, I sometimes growl). So I guess you could say I would probably do best with a female friend similar in size to me or maybe I'm just a little protective of the things I love. Either way, if I'm an only dog, that would be great too as long as we spend lots of time together!
Jake is neutered, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, and ready to find his landing spot. If you feel you meet his wants and needs, please apply today!
