Meet Jake Okie! Jake is a 10 month old Siberian husky and Australian Shepherd mix. He weighs about 23 pounds and will be much bigger when fully grown. He is good in a crate and great with other dogs.
He came to us through the shelter and he was on his final day. He and his sister were very scared and nobody wanted to help them, so FWFP stepped in.
He is doing much better in his foster home. At first, he only coward in the corner and now he’s going in and outside on his own. He will need a fenced in yard and a doggy friend or two. he will need lots of time and patience to help him with his confidence and know that he is safe!
Interested in becoming a forever home for Jake Okie? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application.

We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Jake Okie.
We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Jake Okie the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us.
For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process.
Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses.
All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed.
Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
