James (CO) - The Labby Boiiiii

James is a handsome, 60 pound, 1-year-old male with a stunning medium-length black coat, beautifully marbled with white on his chest and adorned with specks of white on his muzzle, chin, and toes. His captivating amber eyes provide a striking contrast to his coat, making him a truly eye-catching pup. James is believed to be mostly Lab with a touch of Heeler, as evidenced by his docked tail. Growing up in a shelter, James has never had a family of his own. He has been in our program since leaving the shelter and has been eagerly waiting for his forever home. Despite his past, James is a super friendly and loving dog who gets along with everyone he meets. He lives harmoniously with five other dogs of varying sizes and ages and absolutely adores playing with his 6-year-old human foster sibling. James is an excellent playmate and is particularly good at accommodating other dogs' play styles, including that of the senior dog in his foster home. He is submissive when meeting new dogs and has tested well with cats, making him a versatile addition to any household. James enjoys romping in the water, playing with chew toys, and is highly food motivated, which makes training a breeze. Speaking of training, James is potty trained and kennel trained. He has already mastered commands like "sit," "kennel," "no," and "leave it." While he is polite on a leash, he could benefit from some additional training to refine his leash manners. James is cautious of new situations and people but quickly acclimates, especially when treats are involved. James is a quiet sleeper who is content in his kennel but would much prefer to snuggle up next to his person.
