Name: Jameson Breed: Yorkie/Shih Tzu Age: Adult (5-7 years old) Weight: 14lbs Background: This adorable Yorkie/Shih Tzu was previously part of a large breeder operation, where they were used for breeding purposes. Due to an unexpected medical issue, the "greeder" was forced to surrender all the dogs, including these sweethearts. Health: They are currently being treated for ear infections and dental disease, which will be completed prior to adoption is finalized. All the dogs are scheduled for sterilization surgery and dental cleanings/extractions to ensure their overall health and well-being. Personality: Jameson is social and friendly boy that just wants to be loved. He may be hesitant and shy initially, but he warms up quickly. He would make a great lap dog and enjoys human interaction. He is good with other dogs and get along well with cats. Household Requirements: Potty Training: Pad-trained but has significantly improved with his house manners. He will require a consistent routine to help him adjust to new potty habits. Leash Walking: He is not accustomed to walking on a leash and will require some time to adjust. He may not potty on a leash or walk very far initially but he is a fast learner. Containment: Due to their lack of leash training, he will need some physical means of containment to prevent him from wandering off or getting into trouble. Grooming: Regular grooming is essential to keep his coat clean and healthy. Stairs: He is not accustomed to navigating stairs but he has been doing better at getting where he needs to be with encouragement. Furniture: He is not used to being on furniture, so he will need a family that ensures their safety Children: Older children (ages 8+ recommended) would be best suited for this fella. Ideal Home: A patient and understanding family with a stable routine is essential for this lovable Yorkie/Shih Tzu. With consistent training, socialization, and plenty of love, he will thrive in his new forever home. This sweet boy is ready to go home with his new family, but will remain in foster-to-adopt status until his spay/neuter and dental surgery has been completed at one of our partner Veterinary office in Chesterfield on 8/6, which is included in the adoption fee and is non-negotiable.
