My Story

Meet Jax, an incredibly handsome boy coming in at 60 pounds of love and affection. At 7-years-old, Jax is ready to embark on new adventures with his forever family! One hangout with Jax and you'll learn just how friendly and chill this boy is. He thrives on human companionship, always eager to greet people with a wag of his tail and a big smile. Jax is also big on toys, especially stuffed toys or a ball to play with. He'll gladly play with a ball if given the option. This boy absolutely loves the water and will accompany you outside for the hose if you're up for some water tag. Although he may have a brief moment of timidness with a new friend, once he does it's all paws, affection, and guaranteed cuddles. Jax is also a great welcome pup, gladly alerting you to visitors or potential threats. Although he may have the occasional bark, his mellow demeanor suggests he'd do well in various living environments. As for his energy level, Jax is a pretty relaxed dog, with an easy exercise routine. He enjoys leisurely strolls around the neighborhood, he particularly prefers the quieter neighborhood kind of walk with little distractions away from his priority sniffs, or some playtime in the backyard. He's not particularly demanding when it comes to being active if the day doesn't call for it. Jax is the ideal companion for families of any activity level, but he'd especially love a fenced in yard to play with his ball and people in. When it comes to kids, although he has a great temperament, due to his size and playful strength, he should only live in a home with older children. As for other dogs, Jax has lived with other resident pups. He's done well with his puppy foster siblings but is best as the only canine family member as he can get a bit overbearing. Whether he's lounging around the house or romping in the yard, Jax is always up for a good time. With his gentle nature and unwavering loyalty, he's sure to bring endless joy and love to his forever home. If you're ready, Jax is waiting with open paws to become your best friend, the best of best friends. When it is time for Jax to transition to his forever family, his adopter will get a free training session with Jax's trainer. This will give Jax the chance to show off everything he has learned while in foster and set up a good game-plan for continued training with his new family. If you are interested in learning more about Jax, fill out an application at the link below to get the ball rolling. https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/ The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
