A Gorgeous and Smart Shepherd Jemma is a bright, affectionate and eager learner. She radiates energy and curiosity in her surroundings in equal measure. Her disposition is gentle and calm. Her intelligence and eagerness to please make her an ideal candidate for training and further development. Jemma exhibits a remarkable level of intelligence and responsiveness to commands, especially in calm environments; this underscores the importance of creating a routine, structured and supportive atmosphere that caters to her needs and minimizes stressors. Jemma came to us quite reactive to other dogs. We have invested in training for her and she is now comfortable being around dogs, walking with them and passing them on walks. ABOUT JEMMA: - Black Shepherd Mix, Medium-size, Medium-energy - 1 year old, Female 55 lbs - Jemma delights in squeaky toys and balls, displaying her playful nature - Enrichment and puzzle games are where she excels at putting her incredible smarts to work - Well-behaved on walks, she walks alongside her handler without pulling, showcasing her adaptability and eagerness to please. - Jemma will lean in for a pet and stick around for as long as you keep the affection coming - Jemma is spayed, house-trained, microchipped and has core vaccinations JEMMA’S IDEAL HOME: - Jemma loves the outdoors and open spaces, this is where she is happiest - A home in a quiet neighbourhood would be ideal for her. - Her adopter is not a first time dog owner. - A home with no young children - 14+ would likely be okay - A home with no other dogs. - Jemma currently lives happily with dog-savvy cats, she may also be ok with smaller animals in the home, this would need to be tested Jemma is yearning for the right guidance and environment to thrive. In the right hands, she will be a well-adjusted and obedient companion, enriching the lives of those around her. We are looking for either an adopter or a foster for Jemma who can work with her trainer to ensure her success.
