My Story
SAD BUT TRUE!!! This is a story of dedicated devotion. Who would ever imagine this precious little twenty five pound, one year old, Basenji mix, (and her very best pal) to fine themselves dumped on the side of the road??? And to boot, the road was a highway which we all know how busy and dangerous highways are, (actually aren't all roads dangerous). Anyway, she and her best bud were wandering the streets, having themselves sooo much fun, in and out of traffic, not knowing what they were going was deadly dangerous. Sadly, her best pal, another small pooch was hit by a car and killed. She, not realizing her friend was not going to get up and run and play with her, continued to sit there, on the side of the road right next to her bestest pal. She sat there for ever so long, waiting, waiting, waiting. She really kept thinking he was going to get up at any second and they could continue their happy travels. Even though he did not move she sat patiently waiting for him. As she waited, as one more car whizzed by, she also got hit. She, pretty broken up, and he dead, there the two of them lay, right on the side of the road. How fortunate for her, a very good Samaritan did pick her up off the road and did bring her to us. Poor little gal, she was in pretty darn bad shape. She was very, very broken up, very, very dehydrated, and very, very thin. In simple terms, very pathetic condition. She was immediately taken to our veterinarian where she was very well checked out, had x-rays taken, and from that moment she has been on the road to recovery. She was put on medication, good food and has now put on about eight pounds, and is just about as good as new. She is the lucky one, she has been given a second chance. Unfortunately her four legged cronie was not so lucky. Hard to believe how dedicated she was to her pal, she almost lost her life waiting for him to get up, and happily continue on their merry way. This truly is a sad story, but at least there is some good to it, she is alive and now once again happy camper. Surely and sadly she will NEVER, EVER forget her best friend that she had so many fun and happy times with, but at least she will have new buds to spend her new life with. In the mean time she is living in a wonderful foster home where she is being cared for and being loved just like she should be. This precious lass loves being cuddled and hugged and kissed. She now has realized how wonderful life can be, and she is loving every minute of it! She's sooo happy to have a nice warm cozy bed to sleep in and a nice comfy cozy home to live in with other four legged cronies to play with. Not to mention how much attention she gets, and surely you have to know how very much she loved every second of that!! She deserves every bit if it too!! She also deserves a friendly voice, a friendly hand, and ALL of the luxuries life has to offer, and we can give her. We intend to make sure she will have all of these comforts for the rest of her long and happy life! Adoption donation $100.00
