Jersey, who is now 6 months old, and weighs in at 56 pounds, loves everyone. He gets along great with his foster family's resident dogs and cats, and he adores the people, too. He's an easy going puppy and his foster dad believes he would do well in just about any family situation. He's unfazed by most things, and he likes the kids he's met (age 8 and 10) very much.
Jersey is a medium/high energy dog. He loves to go for long walks and will do well in a situation where he gets regular daily exercise.
Jersey's basic training is coming along nicely. He is house trained and he knows simple commands like "sit," "come," and "stay." Jersey sleeps in his crate without a fuss and walks like a gentleman on his leash.
Jersey has figured out that he doesn't have to worry about whether his next meal will ever come so he has gotten over the extreme excitement he showed at feeding times that he exhibited when he first arrived from Arkansas. He even leaves food in his bowl now when he's not hungry - a major change from the puppy who arrived a few weeks ago!
If you're looking for a happy-go-lucky young pup to add to your family, your search is over. Ask about Jersey today!
Update 3/20/08: Jersey's foster dad sent us these new photos. Jersey's having fun in the snow. And he sure loves his enormous collection of toys!
Update 3/18/08: Say hello to Jersey! This cutie loves everybody he meets. He's good with other dogs and cats, and great with people.
Jersey is growing fast and his foster father reports that he always seems hungry. He's got big paws and we guess he'll mature to about 70 pounds. He's also burning lots of calories playing.
Jersey is a medium to high energy puppy and he loves all his new toys, particularly the stuffed animals. He's a bit possessive of them. This is common with rescue pups, as they haven't necessarily figured out that the playthings are here to stay.
Update 3/17/08: Jersey is in foster care in Maine, and settling right in. Stay tuned for updates.
3-4 mos old, 30lbs already, will be a big dog! Probably 70lbs. Typical, friendly loving puppy. Loves other dogs, but is intimidated/scared by the cats.
