Male | Mexi Mutt (Black Mouth Cur mix) | 40lbs | 2 y/o | Neutered/Spayed, UTD on shots | Good with cats, takes his time with new dogs Rescued from Mexico via the DogGo Project Currently being fostered in Toronto, ON Background : Jester was found abandoned outside a shelter in Mexico with his mom and siblings in need of care. The shelter quickly took them in and nursed them all to health where they lived until they were all ready to take their freedom flights! Personality: Jester is a fun loving, sweet-as-can-be boy. He has a low to medium energy and his favourite things are naps, going for walks and giving kisses to his foster family. He is content to nap the day away but is up for play when he gets outside. He is a shy and timid boy and can take quite a bit of time to warm up to new people and surroundings but once he gets to know you he is full of love. Ideal Home: Jester is looking for a home free from children and he would prefer to be the only dog in the house but could have a sibling if proper introductions are made. He is fine with cats and does not show prey drive so would likely be okay with other small animals as well. Jester is a mild mannered boy who is still trying to navigate life in the big city so a home in a quiet neighbourhood with a fenced backyard or plenty of access to greenspace would be a must for his shy guy. Training/Activity: Jester is fully house trained and has never had an accident indoors while living with his foster family! He has wonderful leash manners and walks in a perfect heel - walks are his absolute favourite and he loves to be outdoors. He loves his crate and sees it as his safe space and will happily choose to take a nap in it during the day and sleeps throughout the night without a peep. He is pretty nervous and fearful of meeting new people and loud noises so he is looking for a family that will work with him on his anxieties and take it slow when meeting new people and putting him in new situations. Summary: Jester is a total sweetheart who is looking for a family who will help show him the ropes of living in a big city and spend plenty of time with him outdoors. While he can be a pretty independent boy, he is very affectionate when he is comfortable with his people - even showing his love for you by gently holding your hand in his mouth! Jester will need a family experienced in training and helping dogs with anxiety become more comfortable and confident - he has made amazing progress since arriving from Toronto and he is looking for a family who will continue to foster this growth! **NOTE** All adoption applicants must be residents of Ontario, Canada to be considered.
