Jig

Jig is listed by Hearts 'n Homes Rescue as a courtesy to his owner. Meet Jig, a 5-year-old black lab. This large pooch is a bundle of fun and loves nothing more than running around and playing. He knows on command how to sit, lay, and shake. Although he can be a little rambunctious and wild at times, his affectionate nature and loyal personality more than make up for it. Jig is looking for a forever home where his special needs can be met and welcomed with patience and love. We recommend an active home with older children or no children and where he can be an only pet (no other dogs and no cats). His boundless energy means he's always up for a game of fetch or a long walk in the park, but he will need an attentive handler if other dogs are present since he can be protective of his family. He loves car rides! He has done well when left alone at home with access to the backyard via a doggie door. However, Jig will need a safe, secure backyard with a tall fence and should not be left outside without inside access. When his family is at home, he wants to be close. He is a "Velcro" dog. If put in a room or outside by himself, he will panic and respond by barking and scratching at the door. He likes to stay by a family member's side or at least in the same room. Also, like many other dogs, he doesn't handle thunderstorms or fireworks very well, they make him very anxious and scared. If you're looking for a furry friend who will fill your life with joy and laughter, then Jig may be the perfect fit. He will need a family who is willing to work on his anxiety issues and spend the time needed with him to build his confidence.
