My Story

Joey is a 2 yr old (5/11/2022 bday) neutered male liver roan GSP weighing around 70lbs.  Joey is house trained and rescue has been successful at crate training him.  We feed him in the crate and he gets all treats in it, keeping the crate a positive for Joey.  Joey does great outdoors with other dogs, but in the home he can be a bit jealous over attention.  He is being fostered with another dog in rescue, and we have been utilizing his commands to manage his behavior.  He knows sit, down, place, come and heel.  He is remote collar trained.  A good dog for Joey would be a laid back dog, and picking up toys for at least a month would make the transition successful. Joey would love a home where someone works from home or someone is home more often than not.  A full workday in a crate is probably not best for him, he does love going to doggie daycare if that is an option for someone.  Joey has learned to swim since coming into rescue and he enjoys doing that if its available. Joey has had formal training at Sit Means Sit, which entails a remote collar.  Sit Means Sit offers lifetime training for the dog.  We encourage any adopter to access this free training for him.
