You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi y'all I'm John Appleseed! I'm a 1 1/2-year-old, 55lb coon hound, and I'm obviously the most handsome guy in the room! I'm also potty trained, crate trained and know how to use a dog door. I'm a super smart guy and I love to learn new things and work with my humans. My genetics are strong and I love to do coon hound things, run with the pack, sniff, chase and wrestle. My foster parents say I'm a big goofball. I love to be active, and I'm a really fun dog! I can struggle meeting new people, and I need a family who will advocate for me. You might have seen my situation on the news not so long ago. I was dropped off at the pound because I struggled with meeting people and the person who had me then didn't know how to handle that very well. Luckily, Rescue Rovers came and got me! I've been back in my foster home for almost 2 months and we've been working with an amazing trainer. Now I'm ready to find my forever family! With a slow and structured introduction to new people, I do just fine. Again, having humans who will advocate for me is key to my success. I'm never going to be an off-leash, happy go lucky, meet everyone kind of guy. But really, a few minutes of the right intro, and I'm great! Once I know you're safe I'm as sweet as can be. In fact, sometimes I think I'm a 55lb lapdog. I'm looking for a forever family with kids over about 10 who will continue my training courses for a while. I'm actually already great at pretty much everything as far as "training" goes - but classes will be important to establishing our bond and cementing your leadership.
