Jolene

Jolene is one of my absolute favorites we have in the rescue right now. She is about 4yrs old and weighs 18lbs. She is fabulous with other dogs and cats. She loves with her whole heart and is the sweetest, most affectionate girl. She is a fabulous snuggler and would love to sleep in the bed with your or curl up on the couch and watch movies. She will crawl into your lap for some TLC. She loves to run and play and does the cutest little zoomies when she's excited. She's good off leash and has great recall, however she would do best in a home with a fenced yard. She's both house and crate trained. She is a fantastic watch dog and will sound the alarm if people she doesn't know approach your home. She loves to ride but will bark at the Sonic carhops. Jolene's quirks.... She needs time to warm up adults, especially men. She is definitely more comfortable with woman. Once she knows you and bonds with you, she is 100% your ride-or-die. But she needs time to get over the stranger danger. If you give her a few days to decompress and settle in she will absolutely be the best dog ever. I said she was a favorite and I wasn't exaggerating. She is awesome but needs patience to get there. Oh, and she doesn't like people in hats. Jolene would do best in a woman only home or with a couple with a dog whisperer guy. A friendly, social playful dog would also help her feel more comfortable and safe. Jolene has a really long, complex backstory. The short version is she was an owner surrender by a family we were trying to help when they could no longer keep their dogs.
