Meet Josey! Breed: Pembroke Welsh Corgi Age: Almost 2 years old Weight: 18 lbs Josey is a spirited and resilient Pembroke Welsh Corgi with a remarkable story of survival and recovery. Found in the middle of a rural Missouri highway, we assumed she was hit by a car. X-rays revealed that she had been shot. After surgery to repair her badly fractured leg and ample time to heal, Josey is now ready to find her forever home. Josey is a very high-energy dog who thrives on activity and mental stimulation. She's bold, bossy, chatty and incredibly smart. Josey is not one for couch time or snuggles; she prefers to stay active and engaged. Her ideal home would be one where she has a job to do and plenty of opportunities to expend her energy. She will not do well with long hours alone. Neighborhood walks and playing in the yard will not be enough activity for her. Josey needs a home with another high-energy dog that can match her playful and rough-and-tumble style. She would do best in a country environment/farm home with daily chores that she can "help" with. She needs a very active outdoorsy person who can provide her with the physical and mental challenges she craves. Josey is highly intelligent and eager to learn. She is well behaved and knows all basic commands. She is potty trained and walks well on a leash. She would excel in training activities that challenge her mind and body. Her bold and bossy nature means she needs a firm but loving handler who can provide consistent training and boundaries. Josey is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, and microchipped.
