My Story

This is Journey! Journey needs a an adopter asap. If anyone doesnt know Journey’s rescue story; He was rescued at the end of May of this year 2023. We were contacted by the Emergency Vet to save a dog that was severely burned. He was found tied inside of a burning building with no way to get out in Modesto CA. We have no idea exactly what happened and why people left him but we want to help. We contacted the Hain Rescue Fund to help with funding asap. They saw what condition Journey was in and said yes right away and started fundraising. We were able to save him and get him the vetting he needed. He then went to two different fosters for weeks to months where they helped him heal and rehabilitate. We thought his paw pads would never mend but they did! The doctor thought he would need cosmetic ear surgery but his burnt ends fell off due to necrosis. He healed very well and is such a lucky boy. After he started feeling better he needed training so he can socialize with the outside world again. You can tell many things were new to Journey. Like walking on a leash, recall, basic commands and even being around other animals. Who knows how long Journey was possibly used as a gaurd dog and tied up. We are glad so many people came together to save his life. We wouldnt have been able to save him without The Hain Fund, his fosters , amazing other donors, people who shared his story and cared. Journey is still looking for an adopter. He is about 2 years old, neutered, vacinated, microchipped, loves people, should be in an only dog household, no cats, no other dogs or small animals. He is crate trained, potty trained, knows how to place on a riser, knows basic commands and walks much better on a leash without being reactive. Learns to redirect his attention to his his handler. He has been through a massive Journey and we want him to find a place to call home. Please share and apply to adopt!
