My Story

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application. Phone interviews do not take place til after an approved application is on file and we have a possible match for your home Eligible for the Golden Paws Program (adoptors 60 yrs and older adopting a dog 7 yrs and older get $50 off the adoption fee noted below) My name is Joy. I am 8 years old and weigh 26 pounds. I need a new home because I was being picked on by big dogs in my house. I am being fostered in Boise, ID. I am a sweet girl who does not need a lot of attention. I can lay beside you but I am just as happy on my bed or by myself. I love car rides and being outside laying in the grass. I have a dog door that I love but will bark to let you know I want in when I am in a yard with out a door. I will retrieve a ball for you but not for very long. I get along with most dogs. I would rather not be a playmate as I really don't care to interact with other dogs. I am a very laid back dog and easy going. Here's a little more about me: Housetrained? Yes Leash-trained? Yes Rides well in car? Yes Good with other dogs? Yes however I am not a playmate and like my space Good with cats? Yes Good with young children? I have only been around teenagers but don't seem to care who I am around. Good with strangers? Yes Shy or confident? Confident Barks? Yes, when excited and at critters in the yard. Apartment qualified? Yes Any Special needs or Health Issues? None Adoption fee? $275 The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at ''https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application. All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption. MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. We do not accept invisible fencing. MABTR only adopts to families residing in NE, CO, MO, KS, IA, WY, SD, ND, ID, UT, MT, MN, and NW AR due to the lack of volunteer support in other states, no exception even if you are willing to drive. If you are Interested in Adoption please complete our online adoption application at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application. Petfinder's form is NOT our application. We will respond back to you within 72 hours of receiving your application. Interested in Donating visit https://www.adoptaboston.com/donate
