My Story

Meet Julien! We first met this sweet boy as a young pup on death row in Wichitac sentenced to die for no other reason than being timid and scared. The shelter had placed him in a behavioral program but he was just becoming more and more scared in the shelter environment so he was given a euthanasia date. An adopter heard his story and asked us to rescue him. Unfortunately he was recently returned for being timid and scared, not surprisingly. Julien is small, under 30 pounds and loves all dogs - he really thrives when around other dogs. He takes time to warm up to new people, especially when strangers enter his "home." A few visits and treats are an easy way to win him over though, especially if you sit down and play with the other dogs - then he will run up for a quick pet or kiss. Eventually he will be the snuggliest silliest lovable pup you've ever met. Now that he has really settled into the barn at this point, he has become protective of it and must be muzzled when strangers come in because he does bark at new people and bit a new staff member one day. Any adopters should be aware that he will always need to be muzzled or put away when visitors come over. Once he trusts you though and knows he is safe, he is the perfect dog.
