My Story

Where are the Swifties? Finish this “Love Story.” WE got tired of waiting Wonderin' if you were ever comin' around OUR faith in you was fading When WE WAITED on the outskirts of town, and WE said ADOPTERS, save US, WE’VE been feeling so alone WE keep waiting for you, but you never come Is this in OUR head? WE don't know what to think …WE love you and that's all WE really know WE talked to your dad, go pick out a BONDED PAIR It's a love story, baby, just say, "Yes" *With a few altered lyrics, we hope we at least grabbed potential adopters’ attention. Here’s our “love” story. We were found roaming in our neighborhood and picked up by animal control. Unfortunately, no one came to claim us, BUT we made our way to a no kill shelter in Illinois called The ARK. We went for a trial adoption but we found out pretty quickly that it isn’t cool to chase cats. So, here we are. Waiting for a new adopter. Now we have been at the shelter for a while. We are in a routine of staying clean in our kennel and enjoying the outdoors when given a chance. We hear that bonded dogs are difficult to adopt out. Ain’t that the truth. It’s been a while since we have been on a couch or bed or watched television. Our request for a home gets a little more complicated because we can’t be with cats, and we really don’t want the canine companions either. Romeo and Juliet are around five-years-old. Romeo is a black, shaggy terrier and weighs a little over 30 pounds. He is attentive and treat motivated. He is also the dominant dog in the pair. Juliet is a tan and black terrier. She is also attentive and the gentler personality of the pair. She weighs 46 pounds.
