My Story

We wish to send out a huge thank you to Katie, Kasha's foster mom. Kasha is not doing as well as we had all hoped and Katie has decided to keep her in her loving home. Katie and her wonderful beau plan to care for Kasha from now on as Kasha has been very comfortable and happy with them. Thank you for making your home Kasha's home as well Katie!

Kasha's need for a home has been met but there is still a need for financial assistance with Kasha's care. If you are able to help in any way please make a donation to our Rescue. Thank you from TnT and Kasha.

September Update:

Kasha has seen a cardiologist and several specialists and we will post her latest medical information as soon as it has all been sorted out. Kasha is a special needs girl. What she needs to most is someone who is home most of the time to ensure she gets her needed medication and bathroom breaks. Kasha prefers to be the center or attention so a home without other animals and a home that is not too busy is ideal. Please conact us for more information if you think you can provide the love and tlc that Kasha desires.

Update August 1; from Kasha's wonderful foster mom Katie:

Kasha is a beautiful girl looking for a new home. Here are some things to consider when thinking about adopting Kasha.

1) You must be goofy. Kasha is the goofiest little one, she doesn't care for toys, but absolutely loves playing games with you. She likes to be chased around, faked out, likes to jump around, goofy games with you is the only thing she wants to do! So, goofy is a must.

2) You must be patient. Kasha is a picky eater and would love a home where someone is willing to deal with her ups and downs in diet. If she doesn't feel she is getting the food she wants she will try to take the good stuff off your plate if your back is turned!

3) You must accept a low level of exercise for Kasha. She has a heart condition that doesn't allow her to exert herself too much. She can handle, and really enjoys, a few short walks spread throughout the day. She will stop at intervals to rest and then keep going and can be quite stubborn about shen SHE wants to keep going. She will never be a hiking dog, although she has been to the beach, but didn't want to get wet!

3) You must have a good sense of humor. Kasha is funny! All the quirky things she does must be taken in stride and truly appreciated by her new person/people. She is a funny dog and always making us laugh.

5. You must have dog experience. Kasha can be cautious around new people and likes to be carefully introduced to strangers. She is hit and miss with new dogs as well, so she needs someone willing to take things at her pace.

6) You must never take a single day with Kasha for granted. Kasha has a heart condition and we don't know if she will live a long life or a short one. As you can see, Kasha's foster family is enjoying every day with Kasha and she is brightening their lives with her funny Pei ways.
Kasha's heart condition is easily treated with medication and she is doing very well on the meds she is taking at this time.

Wouldn't you love to have a comical, low energy, pretty girl like Kasha to brighten up your life? Please let us introduce you to Kasha!

June Update:

Sweet Kasha was taken to see the vet to have an Ultrasound, which showed that Kasha's heart is malformed and there is scar tissue preventing the heart from pumping properly. The vet says he has never seen such perfect valves and with medication the condition is being controlled and she is living a normal life. She can do anything any other dog can do but at a more moderate speed and never to long a duration.
Kasha has been started on the needed medication and is now ready for a new home.

Upon Arrival; April 3 2006:

Kasha is a little female cutie, only about 30 or so pounds. Kasha is really enjoying the loving attention of her foster mom, who awakens every morning to the sight of Kasha sitting beside her bed wagging her tail happily!
Kasha is very well behaved. She is spending a good part of the day alone while her foster mom works and is not getting into mischief. Kasha seemed to enjoy her bath in the big soaker tub and sat all wrapped up in the towel on her moms lap for an hour!
If you are looking for a sweet, well behaved little lady, Kasha is your girl! Please contact TNT Shar pei rescue for more information and to arrange to meet little Kasha.
