My Story

Highlights: -Needs a confident canine sibling in the home -Needs a patient, experienced adopter -Would do best with older kids Introduce yourself to our adorable but cautious male Bichon, Kasper (weighing in at 14 lbs) newly rescued from a commercial breeding facility and now awaiting a forever family at National Mill Dog Rescue. As he navigates his new surroundings, he is slowly learning that human interactions can be filled with kindness and gentleness. Understanding and patience will be vital as he gradually learns to trust and embrace his new life. If you're ready to embark on this journey with him and provide the nurturing environment he needs, please consider applying for adoption at nmdr.org. Your loving care could be the cornerstone of his transformation into a trusting and devoted companion. - - - - - Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
