Kate

Kate is a one-year-old golden/collie mix, though we suspect there is some shepherd in there well. Whatever she is, it all adds up to 100% good girl. Intelligent and loyal, Kate loves her people, and will designate one as her ultimate person. Should you be the lucky chosen one, she will follow you around and be there as moral and emotional support whilst you cook dinner, read, garden, or watch tv. She takes this supervisory role very seriously and is incredibly punctual and diligent; you need not worry about where she is. The consummate companion,she loves to hop up on the couch to nap next to you or lay her majestic self at your feet. This stellar young lady is house trained, and crate trained. In her current foster home, she is learning the cues to head into her crate, following the lead of the resident dogs when they go into theirs. She is food motivated, so that is helpful as well. Kate also knows how to sit and loves to give her paw. She is about to start working on "down" in her foster home as well. It should be noted that Miss Kate is a bit wary of some things, especially those that are novel to her. Adopters should rest assured that she is just a bit scared of the unknown, and with patience and continued exposure to new stimuli, she will acclimate and feel more confident. Slow introductions to new people, other dogs, and young children.
