Husker Weim Rescue's foster lady, Miss Kimber, located in Columbus, Nebraska, has been with us for one year. Miss Kimber wants to know what it is like to always be the bridesmaid and never the bride. Miss Kimber claims "she's come a long way baby". First time into rescue, not knowing what was going on...my foster mom & dad, along with my support office group worked hard on me. I did tell you I have a support office group, you see I live in my kennel at the office. That reason is a whole other story, but let's stick with my current story. My mom gives me my meals, we go for a stroll in the morning & evening after work, along with my walking pal "Scorpio". I get funny looks sometimes, but it's ok. Who else sees a dog walking their stuffed toy scorpion. It's my pal, & if you step on it when it's on the floor outside my kennel area, I will give you one bark. Poor mom, had to stop laughing to explain that one. My foster mom said it was best to have Scorpio come walking with us. I didn't need to bark at anyone, & it slowed me down going after any prey (rabbits, cat, birds) I see on the walk. Mom said I even walk better with my pal. But, when I think I'm done, Scorpio hits the ground, not like tossing in the towel. Foster mom just picks it up cause she knows I want to go back home. So as you can tell, I'm not good with small dogs or definitely cats. Mom says I shouldn't be around little kids because I get excited and mouthy. You should see me stand on 2 legs when customers walk in the door. My mom usually tells me hallelujah then ignores me and talks to the customer. Me, I prefer they walk in and give me treats. You know I bet I would love to be the only dog in my future home that has a tall fenced in backyard. I love sniffing for any odd critters walking through (it's that prey drive thing). Oh did I tell you I LOVE going to boarding? Kennel people are just the best. If you need that walking partner? Home Companion? I'm your gal, just make sure I have a lot of chew things around.
