Meet King Arthur -- a 3 1/2 year old 100lb Great Pyrenees mix whose love for belly rubs and snuggles is as big as he is. He is smart, responsive, great on the leash, housebroken and knows basic commands like sit, stay and down. So how has this handsome boy been looking for his forever family for over a month now? We have no idea!! As smart and sweet as he is, he is still a Great Pyrenees and would benefit from an owner who has prior experience with the breed, stubborn dogs or training skills. He loves treats and food but has shown no aggression to her foster mom or dog sister. He is great with other dogs though his size can intimidate and loves to play! Because of his size and playfulness he can be a little unaware of his surroundings and knock things off tables so a home without small children would be good. His previous home had challenges with him being possessive of his favorite person but his foster mom has been able to curb this by firmly working with him to stay off furniture and giving him enough hugs and kisses to feel he is such a good boy. He takes a few minutes to warm up to guests in the home but once he knows you, he will snuggle right up. It can be hard to say no to him but he listens well. Previous home also has challenges with dog being possessive of food and toys around children but his current foster mom doesn’t have kids and can’t speak to it. Mellow houses might work best for him. He would also benefit from a family who can bring him on walks, hikes, throw the ball around with him and enjoys being followed around and loved! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.
