King Kong

LOCATION: Pelham, NH DOB:11/13/2022 (Estimate) Introducing King Kong, known as Kong for short, the honorary member of the Dane club, boasting a fun mix of Dane and Labrador Retriever! While he may go by the name Kong, don't let his size fool you – this young fellow is a gentle giant at heart. Rescued from a rough start, Kong was initially scared, but with the help of his foster mom, he's blossomed into a confident and loving companion. With a playful and spirited personality, he still retains his puppy-like enthusiasm, finding joy in every moment and never missing an opportunity for exercise. But make no mistake, he is not just about play – he's a dog of many talents. From going on long walks to riding in the car with his nose out the window, he loves to explore the world around him. And while he may occasionally get super excited on his long, daily walks, he's making strides in his leash manners and continues to progress with each outing. He has a high prey drive so no small animals. He has been sprayed by a skunk and he has also caught 2 opossums. Both survived, but one he gifted to his people on the couch…GROSS! When he's not out adventuring, Kong enjoys lounging on the couch with his people, soaking up all the love and attention he can get. He's a big fan of treats and toys, particularly those of the soft and squishy variety, although he's been known to tear up and eat the stuffing if left unattended. He also may indulge in a little dumpster diving so hide your trashcans or he may have to investigate, and by investigate=trash party.. Despite his playful nature, Kong is a sensitive soul who responds best to positive reinforcement. He's still working on his manners, but he's come a long way with the help of his foster mom's patience and guidance. While he may have a few quirks – like his aversion to collar grabs and nail trims – he is a sweet and loving boy who just wants to be loved in return. With his boundless energy and affectionate nature, he would thrive in a home with older kids due to his exuberance and playful nature. He would also thrive with another canine friend to play with. While he may have a high prey drive and a knack for mischief, he is loyal and continues to grow with patience and training. Kong is a remarkable high energy companion.
