My Story

"You give loyalty, you'll get it back. You give love, you'll get it back." -- Tommy Lasorda Why hello there! Knial here. I am a two-year-old, 73-pound, Yellow Lab mix gent. I am looking for someone to be a loving and loyal companion to. I am the goofiest boy in my foster home! I like to run and wrestle with all the doggos, and I have been known to groom the cat (Hey, cats need love too!). I am very shy to new people and places and do take quite some time to warm up. I will need a very patient person to help me gain more confidence. I'm really smart! I am a house trained champ! When I'm told to "kennel" I immediately drop to the floor for a belly rub. After my hoomans comply, THEN I will go into the kennel! Once in there, I am a very well-behaved boy. I do still pull a bit on my leash, so a harness might be a good idea for me on walks. I love snuggles, belly rubs, and playing with toys. I'm working on learning how to fetch. My forever home needs a fenced yard for me to run and play in! I would love to be part of a calm and quiet household without any younger children. I would also do best with another dog companion. I am sometimes a little shy when first meeting new people, and I need time to warm up to them. Even as an initial scaredy-cat, I am sweet as pie; I just need a little time to decompress when my environments change. Patience is a virtue :) Once I feel safe, I will be ready to receive ALL the pets! I hope you will consider making me part of your family. Fill out an adoption application today!! My adoption fee is Sponsored and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip! **Petfinder inquiries are NOT official applications! If you're interested in meeting/adopting me, please visit www.rescueonespringfield.com/our-adoption-process/adoption-application/ and fill out the form! We do adopt out of state with vet references and video home check. *Adopter is responsible for coming to get the dog and returning the dog if the adoption does not work out* Don't forget to LIKE us on Facebook!-www.facebook.com/rescueonespringfield *Remember, dogs are pack animals. Because of this, Rescue One does not adopt to outdoor-only homes. Pets are family and are not disposable. Please make sure that you are 100% committed to a pet before considering adding one to your home. We are a foster-based organization, and we need more fosters to help us save more animals! If you’re interested in saving lives just like the one you’re reading about, fill out a foster app here.
