My Story

Kodiak is a 5.5 year old neutered, male malamute/husky mix who weighs 90 lbs. He was originally adopted at 10 months old and recently returned after the loss of one of his human guardians. Unfortunately, though he always lived with 2 to 3 other dogs in his home, his owners never gave the dogs toys, so he will guard them from other dogs, which initially created some altercations when he was first returned. Though he is not dog aggressive, his tot guarding poses a threat to small dogs, the same is true for cats. He currently lives with dogs of all sexes and sizes, as well as with a cat and is simply managed. Kodiak is very shy with strangers, but as soon as he trusts you, he is very playful and affectionate. He loves to go for on leash walks, runs or hikes. Kodiak is housebroken and crate trained, but does not need to be crated. Unfortunately , he came back extremely matted and had to be shaved down and will require regular grooming to avoid this in the future. If you can provide this sweet boy a forever home. Please submit an application to www.journeyanimalrescue.org. Adoption donation is 450. Once application is approved, we will set up a meet and greet with all human and canine family members in Fryeburg, Maine.
