My Story

Hi! I’m Kodiak!. I’m a happy 1.5 year old beautiful husky boy. Thankfully, I was saved by Rescue Texas because my first year of life was not so great. I left in a backyard on a short chain until I did what huskies do…I escaped! Somehow, my foot was chopped off and a bunch of people tried to save me for over a week. When I got tired, I let them put me in their vehicle and take me to the doctor. It was best to amputate my leg, but that doesn’t bother me one bit. I’m just a big goofball who loves people and other dogs. I won’t run away anymore because I know I’m going to find a perfect home where I will be loved forever. Since I have a small handicap, I’m not quite escape artist I used to be. I am heartbroken and Kennel trained and I’m doing pretty good off leash too! Please give me a new home so I can start a wonderful life with you. Kodiak is neutered, current on vaccinations, on monthly preventatives and healthy. . He’s a big boy and weighs approximately 65 pounds. ———————— We are in Texas, but we love sending our rescue dogs to other US states! We go to great lengths to secure safe and responsible transport. Travel with a USDA Health Certificate to most US cities is available for an additional $300 fee. Our dogs over 6 months of age have been vaccinated, dewormed spay/neutered and microchipped! In rare circumstances, a dog may not be spayed/neutered for health reasons. In this case, it will be clearly explained to the adopters and proper care will be understood by adopters. Puppies too young for spay/neuter at the time of adoption will be required to be spay/neutered at 6 months at the adopter's expense. The microchip will be transferred to adopter at this time. The adoption donation for this pet will enable us to finance our program of saving abused, abandoned and neglected dogs; making them healthy and changing their lives. Many of our rescue dogs have high medical expenses. Breed: We are an animal welfare organization, and we do our best to estimate the breed based on our experience and research. We do not guarantee the breed and/or size expectation of the puppy in our Petfinder ads. If you are interested in adopting, please follow the steps below! First step is to fill out an adoption application: Adoption Application: https://form.jotform.com/220167149028150 (Copy & paste link in your browser) We are grateful for the time it takes to complete the application. We read each and every one, but we are only 2 people with full time jobs, therefore, we aren't able to respond to every applicant....but we try.
