Kona

We got some new pictures of Kona. We spent some time with her today. She went for a walk, decided she wanted to meet a turkey (which didn't happen), and got some love and attention. Now 7 years old, Kona was adopted from us years ago, and we expected - as we always do - that it would be a forever home. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. The family had a baby who is now almost a toddler. As the baby grew and started moving around, Kona didn't react positively. To be clear - she did not hurt the child. She didn't even touch the child. But the family was concerned that might happen, and so she came back to us about a week ago - we always stand by our dogs. She is in boarding VERY temporarily. Kona is not a dog who does well in boarding. Even at 7 years old, she's an energetic dog and being kenneled is not something she's happy with - at all! We need to get her into a home quickly. She needs to be an only pet. She could live happily with respectful older (teenaged) children. If you have a fenced yard, she'd love running around in it. If you're home part of the day, she'd be in heaven - but could also do well if you work regular hours. We'd like to find an active family for Kona, who can take her on long walks and hikes. We are also looking for a family with experience with bully breeds (she is a pit bull type dog). It takes Kona a minute or two to get comfortable with new people. A little patience and a treat or two, and she'll be a loyal and constant friend and companion. Please consider fostering or adopting Kona. She is a GREAT dog and deserves a truly forever family.
