My Story

Meet Kornelia! She is a spunky little puppy who loves dogs and her trusted humans. Sweet Korn had a tough start to life; her mom and siblings died and she was left to fend for himself at a very young age. She has been in foster for nearly two months now and has made tons of progress! She would do great with a confident dog in the home and a patient family willing to continue to work on her confidence! She is very food motivated so she will bond to you over high-yield treats (canned sardines are the current favorite, and freeze-dried cod). We are not sure of her mix but expect her to be on the smaller end of medium (about 30-40lbs). She has the cutest curly tail! While she is a very confident bundle of energy in her foster home, she's a very shy girl in new situations and new environments! In her foster home, where she feels comfortable, Kornelia is a playful little maniac. She has four foster siblings of various sizes and ages, and she adores all of them. She is nervous with other dogs at first, but quickly warms up and then tires them out. She loves her foster mom (finally) and loves tummy and feet massages before bedtime. She gets to choose where she sleeps. Usually she sleeps in a dog bed next to her foster mom's bed, but every now and again her foster mom wakes up to her snuggled up with her. Every day, she displays new trust and growth -- she is the kind of dog that makes you work for her trust, but once you have it the bond is unbreakable. Kornelia needs a hero to make her feel safe and continue teaching her how to be a dog. She has never displayed aggression towards children and actually seems to really enjoy them, but given her shyness she would do best in a home with older children who can respect her boundaries at first. She has not been cat tested, but no reason to suspect she wouldn't do well. If you are interested in meeting Kornelia please submit an adoption application- you won't be sorry!
