Kya

Hi there! My name is Kya and I am an approximately 1.5 year old dog. I’ve been been in my foster home and waiting for my furever home since I was just 4 months old (so sad, I know). Background info: I was found as a stray in Detroit and not claimed during my stray period while at Detroit Animal Control. Thankfully the awesome people there reached out on social media looking for a rescue to come take me and my foster momma, Angela just couldn't say no. I currently live in a house with 4 human boy siblings (2 younger ones and 2 teenagers). My foster mom has two sweet adult dogs too, but they aren’t big fans of rambunctious young dogs like me. I may do well with another playful dog in the home, given proper introductions. I’ve been working on potty training and do well with consistency, but will need someone to continue that with me and be understanding post-adoption. I walk nicely on a harness/leash and am crate trained. I weigh about 40lbs currently and not expected to get any bigger. A fenced yard is required to adopt me. I am very smart and would do GREAT having a job. I am fully vaccinated, microchipped, have a negative fecal test, be starting on Simparica TRIO (monthly heart worm/flea/tick prevention) and my neuter is covered at the rescue's preferred vet once I am old enough too.
