Kylie and Fiona

The two BEST girls EVER are now available for adoption! After consulting with three local vets and a specialty doctor, it has been decided that Fiona is not a good candidate for reconstructive surgery or even amputation. The surgery will be too much for her little body, and there is no guarantee the surgery will be successful. This is not the news we were expecting. We are disappointed, but also a little relieved that she will not have to endure a major reconstructive surgery. We were totally prepared to do whatever necessary to fix her leg. Thankfully, she gets around just fine. As previously posted, Fiona’s back left knee has a severe luxating patella. Over the course of time, this has caused her leg to become severely deformed and she is unable to use it. At some point in her life, she also suffered from a fracture to the right hip. She would benefit from having FHO surgery, but because she cannot use her back left leg, that surgery is not a sensible option. So, little Fiona will live out her life just the way she is! Fiona and Kylie are a bonded pair and must be adopted together! Kylie is Fiona’s mom and they have been together their entire lives. They were surrendered because of a divorce and neither person could keep them. They appear to be Chihuahua, Pomeranian mix. Kylie is 8 years old and Fiona is 6 years old. These little girls are incredibly sweet and so friendly! They are very well behaved and super easy to care for. Kylie can be a little bit of a barker but settles down with correction. Both girls are good with older kids, dogs and cats. They are house and crate trained. Both girls love their crates and can often be found burrowed under their blankets snoozing away. Kylie loves walks and typically walks 2 miles a day with her foster mom. A fenced yard is a must! The girl’s adoption fee is $500. This includes vaccinations, spay, heartworm, test, microchips, and maintaining heartworm and flea prevention while in our care. Oh.
