My Story

Lacey is a good girl who has had a rough start in life and is looking for a patient and loving home to call her own. She has come from a puppy mill where she had a life of neglect and probable abuse. She doesn't ask for much in life other than to have all the attention. She will need softened food due to all but 7 of her teeth being pulled. Her foster family has two one year old puppies whom she gets along fine with so dogs her size are fine. We don't know about cats or bigger dogs but based on her temperament, I am assuming that neither would be an issue. Lacey is going to require a patient owner(s) to help her feel comfortable in a new environment. Given her lack of trust that she won't be hurt she is skittish and nervous in new situations. Over the last 5 months she has finally started settling down in our house. A lot of activity makes her nervous which could be translated to barking.Lacey is currently on Prozac to help with her nervousness, and we have seen a marked improvement. We are working on leash walking as well as basic commands. She does relatively well with walking and is interested in the world around her.Lacey will need to have another dog in the house and does need a fenced yard.
